Cora Manimbo's artistic talent made her famous for her creations of style and vogue of traditional Filipino attires made with sensitive fabrics and intrinsic materials in many fashion shows in the Philippines, all over Asia, Europe, Middle East and USA as well.

She was born in Marikina on June 29, 1959, the year of the Boar, the sign of simplicity, placidity and harmony. Somehow, that explains why she is publicity-shy. She grew up in her birthplace, Marikina, when it was still a town of the province of Rizal; now Marikina is already a city and has been a part of Metro Manila. Her mother, Fely, belongs to the De Asis and Antonio families, two of the biggest and original clans in Marikina. Her father is Primo de Jesus, a mechanic engineer and a painter from Angono, Rizal - a town that is known to be the birthplace of many artists.

A Commerce graduate, major in Accounting, Cora Manimbo has no formal educational background on Fashion Design but she inherited her artistic skills from her dad. After college, she landed a job as a financial analyst of Security Bank and Trust Company later she became the Executive Vice President of Handyware Philippines which handled the Propak printing of packages ordered by large corporations such as RFM, URC, Swift, General Milling, Mead Johnson and others. "I was in charge of marketing and production. There, I was honed in making good color combinations.

Because of her inherited artistic skills from her dad, she became confident in combining colored on her distinctive, underlying patterns to fabric without the fear of desolating her materials in creating her Filipiniana piece. She uses Pina cloth from Aklan, abel from Ilocos Region, Malong and Yakan from Cotabato, Tinalak from Cagayan de Oro, Hablon from Negros, Iloilo and Antique, Ifugao textiles from Mt. Province and Batik from Zamboanga. She uses her remnants to transfigure those scraps into collage of Filipiniana Couture Collection.

Her expensive led her to made dresses for royalties like Princess and Princesses in Mindanao and in other Asian Countries. She also made gowns for some Saudi Arabian Princesses who want their saris fully embroidered by hand or by machine.

She was the featured designer to several fashion shows like Filipino-American educational Conference held at Clarion Hotel in San Francisco, California last November 2004, she was the opening number at the kick-off ceremonies of the Independence Day Celebration of Philippine Tourism held in Culver City, Los Angeles, California.

She opened the Asian Ladies Association General Membership Meeting during the term of Consul Edwin Bael. She was featured in WOW Marikina for both fashion shoes and accessories and in Bagay sa Iyo Fashion Show at the Marriott Hotel in Newark, New Jersey in 2003.

Last March 16, 2005, she was part of the Character Building Foundation's fund raising concert cum fashion show, CEO Sings…Timeless Music. Cora was invited by the Philippine-American Friendship Committee, Inc. in Jersey City, New Jersey to exhibit her high quality Filipino Clothes Fashion Show as Fashion de Manila" on Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Exchange Plaza.
